We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the gift you have given us. We only hope one day we can return the favor in some way. Before I was diagnosed, we already had huge medical bills. My husband Greg was hurt at work and was out for two years, then he lost his job and has been looking for another two years.

With unexpected and unrelated medical bills for both of us it was very hard to get by. Then to hear that word “cancer”, we were completely lost. Yes, we have great support from friends and family and now we consider you our family, too. I just completed my radiation therapy on March 1st and I know I still have a fight in front of me. But I am also a cervical cancer survivor from 28 years ago, and I will stand taller and tougher than ever. There are just too many loving and caring people in our lives to just give it up. I received the call from my doctor that my biopsies showed cancer. The hardest part was telling my children and other family members. My son immediately told me that I should go to the Pink Ribbon Riders web site and apply for their help.

About 30 minutes ago I received an enveloped delivered to my door. It was the $500 gift card you sent to me. I immediately called my son, who is the one who told me about PRR a few years ago. He has been involved with your organization for several years now.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for the gift card! It was a tremendous help. I used it for gas going to my radiation treatments in St. Cloud. It was 50 miles one way for 6 weeks, Monday-Friday. It paid for the majority of it! I have since finished treatment and I am feeling great. I was reluctant to apply but one of my best friends talked me into it. She, along with her husband, brother-in-law & nephew, have gone on some of your rides to raise money. Hi, My name is Shantelle Richie and I was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer 5 months ago at the age of 24. It just happened so suddenly and so unexpectedly especially since it does not run in my family. I have learned that I am a very strong woman and I was determined not to let this break me. Once again, I thank you for your generous help at a very dark time in my life. Now — for an update!!! I had a follow-up appointment with my Oncologist on Thursday. Needless to say, I was terrified. Sitting in that Waiting Room brought back the reality of why I was there. Blood work was done first — my counts are still a little off due to lingering effects of the Radiation. Other than that — all is good — and she pronounced me “CANCER FREE”. I dragged myself into that office but I floated out. Now — if I can just stay that way! — I want to be on guard but I do not want to be paranoid. I want to have a quality of life where every little ache does not throw me into a panic that the cancer has returned. Be assured that I will work on this positive attitude. I am on Arimidex and I am doing good with it — thank God!!!! The perfect end to the day on Thursday: I attended the Breast Cancer Awareness event at the Fort Drum Commons sponsored by the Samaritan Medical Center — they gave us generous “Goody Bags” at registration which included a nice long sleeve shirt for the Survivors — there were Vendor Booths with great “handouts” — live music — an excellent program emceed by a Breast Surgeon — a delicious dinner — and entertainment (a comedian who has been on HBO, the View, NBC & ABC – she was hilarious). They had all the Survivors stand to be acknowledged — I stood proud — I have won and I will do all in my power to continue to fight this evil enemy!!! It has been a long and difficult year — the prayers and support of family and friends have brought me through this storm. And — Pink Ribbon Riders were a true godsend for me — I was comforted by the kind and encouraging support. I found that the world of Cancer can be a lonely place but I found “family” on with the Pink Ribbon Riders – Keep up the wonderful work! Thank you

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October, just two weeks after I was engaged to be married to my high school sweetheart. After 2 surgeries we married in December. I had chemotherapy and am currently in the middle of radiation. It’s been a tough road but my husband, friends and family have been an unbelieveable support. Having to be on short term disability from my job and my husband being unemployed until recently, this has been a very difficult time. Just when I thought times were hard, my husband’s vehicle died and it cost more to fix than it was worth. My husband and I want to thank you so much for your generosity. I know that every person has a story, but until you hear the stories you cannot know what an impact you have made on someone’s life.

The year 2011 not only included my battle of breast cancer, but also job loss and seeking employment for my husband. He was laid off from his job just before we learned of my breast cancer. Losing a job is a blow for any man, but then getting news that his wife has this awful disease and is facing horrible surgeries and cancer treatments is overwhelming. He was my rock during this journey. He took such good care of me and was there with me for every doctor appointment, every surgery, every chemo treatment. We actually consider it a blessing that he was unemployed during that time. I don’t think I could have walked this journey without his unconditional love, caring support and encouragement.

As of January 30th, with the exception of minor surgeries and being monitored by my doctors, my cancer journey ended and my oncologist has given me a clean bill of health! Unfortunately, my husband’s unemployment is still a reality. After 15 months he continues to be diligent in his job search and we have hope that he will find employment soon.

So after hearing my story, you can understand that we are grateful that you would bless us financially. You are amazing!

My story begins with a doctor appointment as I had a tick bite that seemed to cause some inflammation. After a course of antibiotics, the inflammation increased and moved into my arm. An ultrasound revealed a concern as lymph nodes were enlarged. Referral to a specialist to further assess my symptoms. Two biopsies later in the week revealed it was the “C” word. Inflammatory Breast Cancer….described as a rare and aggressive cancer. The action plan is chemo, mastectomy and radiation. Hard words to hear, even harder to absorb…..what does this mean. All the questions of how will or how can I beat this. What will happen to my kids if something happens to me?, What do I do with the hobby farm that is up for sale? Can I work? How long can I work? Is my will up to date? and on and on………. My action plan was to do what I could but to seek help from the Lord, seek his guidance through this. I have completed 22 weeks of chemo. Had surgery this last week and will be having radiation as soon as my incision heals. What I have learned is that life is like a ride….it is a journey filled with moments of joy shared with family and friends. But there are potholes and detours that we encounter along the way. It is with our faith, the help of others that we meet along our journey and determination that one finds their path and moves forward. It is you.. the Pink Ribbon Riders that has helped me on my journey. You helped in relieving some of the stress related to being unable to work and being a single parent…with bills accumulating. The gift from Pink Ribbon Riders was a moment of joy and relief. Many of my rider friends have participated in the local Breast Cancer rides. I never dreamed that I would be a benefactor from their efforts, from the Pink Ribbon Riders group. On this journey as a breast cancer warrior and hopefully a survivor, I know that the generosity and the efforts of your group has made a difference in my life, has helped me in my journey and is helping others diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I would like to thank the Pink Ribbon Riders from the bottom of my heart for selecting me as one of their recipients of the gift card at this year’s Minnesota ride. As I stated at the banquet, I have participated the previous 3 yrs as a trail guide and a contact in the area prior to the ride. I did this in honor & memory of my older sister, Janet Schroeder, who first had breast cancer and was almost a 5yr survivor when it was discovered that she had stage IV Ovarian Cancer. I always hoped I would never have to go through what she did, but it was not to be. I found a lump the first part of August, had the tumor removed in September and began my chemo in October. I have now completed my treatments, of which there were 6; 1 every 3 wks, with the last one on February 1st.When I found all of this out, I chose to have the genetic testing done and found that I was a carrier of the BRCA1 mutated gene; and this was from my dad’s side of the family not my mom’s. This means I am more susceptible to breast& ovarian cancer, so next week I will be meeting with surgeons to schedule a hysterectomy & a double mastectomy; by doing this it will put me in the 90% bracket for non-reoccurance. Whereas, if I were to do nothing it would just be a matter of time until one or the other or both would show their ugly heads again. Thank you so much for the debit card.  It is approx 30 miles to my treatment so gas gets expensive especially if I need radiation.  I will be sent to a doctor perhaps in January. I have to do 3 more chemo treatments yet. I live in New York State,  this picture is my dahlia’s (flowers) and I have had a first hair cut. I just wanted to send PINK RIBBONS RIDERS a thank you note. I am surviving Breast Cancer! I am in treatment now. I am so grateful and thankful for organizations like yours that provide support for a person like myself, but also bring awareness about Breast Cancer to men and women.

We know more men and women are being affected too. You can never be repaid for what your gift provides for a person with breast cancer. The donations do several things, to name a few: Keeping the power on in our homes, transportation costs to appointments because we have a lot of those, food, medication, payment of medical bills, wigs,  undergarments and the list goes on. But, it also provides some sanity that right now it will be ok and that there is some help available.

I am in a fight against breast cancer AND I am going to win. I have been sent on a detour but it won’t last. I may be down right now but I’m not out. It may appear dark right now but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Dear Pink Ribbon Riders, First I want to apologize for not sending this note sooner. Believe me I have thought about your generosity on a daily basis! It amazes me that so many people who have never met me and my family can care so much. Those thoughts help me stay positive and get me through my treatments.My chemo regime is very consuming. I have to be at the cancer center three days per week for treatments and some of those days I am not feeling well. All in all I am doing well.

When I received your gift card and note I was overwhelmed with emotion. Our need for extra funds was great. In addition to the extra copays and medication costs we had additional needs. At the time I was diagnosed our dryer broke down beyond repair. After my first breast cancer diagnosis and treatment was completed I donated my wig,wig products and hats to the American Cancer Society. I had to purchase a new wig.

I hope you know how much stress you are alleviating for so many people. You are making a big difference in so many people’s lives. I received today a gift card from you and I can’t express enough much gratitude for such a generous gift. These past 6 months have been a horror for me and my family and to receive a gift like this from people I don’t even know was truly overwhelming. I pay completely for my own health insurance each month & with copay payments keep coming in the mail, this will truly help me catch up. I recently went back to work after not working for 10 weeks, but only working part time. It is so good to be working again and looking back at the past 6 months seems like a night mare to me. I have always been on top of my health, which obviously is a good thing. Cancer caught in such early stages, is definitely good. I am a 27-year old female who is a survivor of breast cancer. My journey of survivorship comes as a surprise. I was like a deer in headlights when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am a flight attendant currently on Medical Leave from Delta Airlines. I was flying all over the world and loving it. I had been to Japan, Hawaii, Germany, Kuwait and many other beautiful places. I exercised, ate as well as any flight attendant would, and was never one to smoke or drink. I am a native of Milwaukee, WI but at the time resided in Romulus, MI due to my employment. My breasts started leaking a clear substance in November 2009. I was under some stress at the time so I thought that was my body’s way of de-stressing despite my mother telling me to go and get a mammogram. I figured I was too young to have a mammogram and also there was no family history of any kind of cancer, so I thought. Well, I finally went to my primary care physician in Milwaukee in January 2010 and he ran some blood tests which all came back negative. After running all sorts of tests he finally sent me to have an ultrasound of my breast along with a mammogram. I was terrified. I was only 26yrs. old and had not a clue about mammograms or ultrasounds. I thought my first ultrasound would be when I have my first child not me being diagnosed with breast cancer. I then proceeded to have two breast biopsies which confirmed that I had breast cancer. So of course I went to have a second opinion which confirmed that not only did I have stage 3 breast cancer (Inductal Carcinoma) but, it had spread to my lymph nodes within a couple of months. I had a right breast mastectomy with removal of my right underarm lymph nodes in April of 2010. I continued on to have chemotherapy in June of 2010 and finished in September 2010. Then, in November of 2010 I started radiation therapy for six weeks and finished just days before Christmas. I am currently receiving Herceptin every three weeks because my receptors were positive which doctors say is a good thing. I still have reconstruction to go through in upcoming spring 2011 and I am blessed everyday to be living each day! I wanted to personally thank The Pink Ribbon Riders because you were a part of my survival. I thank God for placing The Pink Ribbon Riders in my life because you guys were the light at the end of the tunnel and I pray consistently for this foundation and its partners. Thank you a million times over!!!!!!!! You Rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to send my heartfelt thanks to your organization for the gift card. It couldn’t have come at a better time.

I am a in home daycare provider and cancer survivor. I am currently going thru chemo and radiation while continuing to run my in home daycare. I am a single parent and daycare is my only income. With the onset of my cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment, I had to downsize my daycare group in order to continue to work. With downsizing, I also downsized my income.

Money has been quite tight this year and my two teenagers have not complained once. I am really proud of them and how they spent their summer helping me with the daycare and doing things around the house without being asked.

I really wanted to have a nice Christmas for my kids this year after all we have been thru, but money has been tight. With receiving the gift card today, I can get them a little surprise for Christmas morning.

Dear Pink Ribbon Riders:

I wanted to send a belated Thank You for the gift card. It was so helpful in being able to pay for incidentals like gas, groceries, etc. It meant so much to me and my family. It has been one of the bright spots I’ve had over the past couple of months.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer on October 4, 2012. I underwent a lumpectomy on October 24. The diagnosis was a complete shock as there is no history of cancer in my family, and I have been healthy all my life. The lump was found on my mammogram, which I had almost cancelled thinking I just had one last year, and it seems to guidelines for having a mammogram change all the time. Thank goodness I did go in and have it, rather than waiting another year. I started my chemotherapy the end of November, and I still have 3 months ahead of me, then I will go through radiation therapy. The chemotherapy has been pretty brutal so I have not returned to work yet. My cancer turned out to be triple negative, which has a higher rate of re-occurrence, so they are treating it aggressively. I will be glad to have it all behind me, and return to a more normal existence.

I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for your kindness. Organizations such as yours take my breath away. To think there are people out there who are so generous with their time and money makes me realize that when this is all behind me, I will need to get out and do more to help others. What can I say, but Thank you…. This journey into the world of bi-lateral breast cancer has been an interesting one… 6 months ago I had no idea I had cancer and throughout these last 6 months I can honestly tell you it has been a blessing.

I have formed many new lovely friendships, learned a great deal about myself and others and developed a strong sense of purpose. I am one of the lucky ones – I can ( and did ) have the cancer removed ( full mastectomy Oct 31, 2012) I also am not on a slippery sliding slope with an illness that is slow, robbing one of abilities and dignity and terminal. I am blessed in more ways that I can count.

My thanks to your great organization. My story…….I had a stroke at age66 May 13. after a week in the hospital and then a week as a inpatient for rehab I was able to go home only to return 3 days later with internal bleeding where they discovered I had had another stroke. I was barely home from that one when they discovered the recurrence of the breast cancer of 10 years ago , almost to the day. It came back in the form of a tumor in the spine .I have had radiation and won’t know if is succesful till a scan in Feb.The Dr is optomistic however.We were barely making ends meet when the daily trips for the treatments snuck up on us ( gas was at it’s highest and we found our selves beehind on utility bills as well as others).This will be used for that . 10 years ago (my husband was being treated for throat cancer at the same time.),We were younger and tougher and continued working thru out and did not have to ask for help But times have changed Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Thank you for supporting those that suffer from breast cancer.  We all really appreciate what you do for us.  I didn’t realize how many bills would be coming through after I found out I had cancer.  I figured I really didn’t need the help as I had a job.  Now it seems like every time I turn around a new bill is coming in the mail.  The gift card is helping me ,eep up with these bills.
I would also like to add that I was fortunate that I found my lump on my own.  I noticed a change in breast shape on one side and was persistent in self exam for a few days.  If I would not have kept searching I don’t know what would have happened.  I urge all women to get their mammograms as scheduled.

DEAR Pink Ribbon Riders… My name is Lisa Marie Daniel. I was diagnosed with a pretty aggressive form of breast cancer on my Momma’s birthday in February of 2011. After a year of chemo, radiation, and continued Herceptin treatments, I began having a headache that lasted for 3 weeks. I repeatedly went to several doctors because the pain was quite unbearable. It turns out, I had what I call, an ANGRY brain marble (aka, brain tumor), which really wanted to take me down. As I am extremely stubborn and love my boys like no other, I immediately asked what was next. I was told, a craniotomy and Gamma Knife radiation, plus a new medication called Tykerb (which i will likely be on for the rest of my life). We were THRILLED when we found out that the marble was operable, and I would see an astoundingly excellent doctor in Chicago. We were, however, a little worried about money. My husband, Daniel, is an Art Teacher and Musician; I work as a Parapro in the same school system with the Special Ed kids, so money is not our priority (which is good, because there’s not a lot of it…lol!!). We decided to leave the worry in God’s capable hands and head to Chi-Town. Literally as we were pulling out of our driveway, we checked the mail, and there was your letter and gift card!!! Talk about a MIRACLE!! We were so blessed by your gift to us! God bless you and thank you with all of our hearts. We were able to pay for 3 nights in a nice hotel within walking distance from Northwestern Hospital for our boys, with a pool and everything, which they very much needed as they were a little terrified. While money doesn’t fix everything, it was a GREAT comfort to us not to have to worry about paying for our hotel and some of our food. My boys names are Maxime, age 13, and Jacob, age 16. Also, my big brother lives with us, his name is Keny. We all benefitted from the generous gift you all sent 🙂 Thank you, and God bless every single one of you!!!

The past 15 years I have been challenged and tested. My parents and family members deaths, murder of my sister who was a nun, and the suicide of our eldest daughter. I thought I had all I could handle and then I heard those words – “Carol , you have breast cancer.” I knew that I could handle the emotional and physical part of this new challenge in life, but financially I was frantic. In one week I went from gainfully employed to having cancer and now out of a job. I was 3 months shy of qualifying for Family Leave Act and they could not save my job for me. My husband and I both work at the same company and each had our own insurance. I had to quit to transfer to his insurance without any break in coverage. I had a small cancer insurance policy that has helped some, but I am still working with them to get all my benefits. When I shared my story with the social worker in my oncologists office, she told me about your great organization. It was music to my ears. With Pink Ribbon Riders all I did was fill out a few forms and support came via the mail service! Fast and dignified. There is help out there! It means so much to me that you were able to give support to me both in words and financially. I tell everyone about your great organization and I wish you all the best in all the years to come!

I am in receipt of your very generous gift and thank you from the bottom of my heart. The $500 is going to be a great help in covering co-pays of my many medical bills. It is caring people like you that gives people like me the strength to carry on our battle.

My granddaughter, Trisha, who is graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree from RIT had to create a Web Site on someone who is on a journey in their life so she chose me. She is using my updates, letters, etc. She asked me to write down my feelings about having cancer. To be honest, it was not easy. I finally was able to get my thoughts on paper and I just wanted to share  them with you to give you some insight into my experience.

Here goes:
Some of my thoughts on Cancer:

Cancer is a game of Solitaire. I am the lone player. I am surrounded by family and friends who love me, who care for me, who pray for me and who support me. However, they do not have cancer. I am the one who has cancer. I cannot accurately relay to them what it feels like to have cancer. It is like trying to describe “giving birth” to an expectant mother – it is not possible to convey the experience – only those who go through it can fully understand. Cancer is the same for me. I cannot describe the feelings and the emotions.
My world as I have known it for 66 years has ended. I now exist in another dimension which I could describe as a “Twilight Zone”. I am alone in this dimension but I am aware of my family and friends hovering outside my zone. They are doing their best to be there for me — to keep me strong and positive. Of course, I appreciate their love and support. However, I am still alone. They have their own lives aside from the world of my cancer. They can escape to those lives and be free. I can compare it to the death of a loved one. Family and friends grieve and they miss that person. However, as time passes, they return to their normal routine in life — they regain the joy of life — memories fade. Actually, it is quite humbling to realize that you are not the center of the universe — that life goes on without you — that your children and grandchildren can do quite well in life without your love and guidance. However, that is the way it should be — Life is for the living and I would not want my loved ones to waste their energy in grieving for me.
The darkest moments of this journey started on the day I received the phone call — Cancer — someone was saying that word to me — it must be a mistake — my stomach falls to the floor — the phone call ends — my life is forever changed. I go to the door and see my husband in the driveway — I just look at him and blurt out “I have cancer” — I say it but I do not believe it and it is a long time before I can say it aloud again. My husband comes in and calls our children. I am no longer in the real world as I watch the reaction around me — I am removed in an eerie sort of way. The next days are spent in a vacuum — when I try to face my diagnosis, I get butterflies in my tummy — then I remind myself of all the survivors that I am hearing about and the butterflies let up for awhile. I am lost as to what to do next. I am not capable of taking action. Thank God for a daughter who takes charge — does research — is able to get me in to a top surgeon and top oncologist in record time. I now become a robot — returning to the Clinic for 6 hours of torture (MRI, Mammograms, Ultrasounds, Biopsies) whereby I pass out at the end of the 6 hours falling on my face and breaking my nose — then, my appointment with the Surgeon — then, my pre-op appointment — then, my surgery — then, my joint appointment with surgeon and oncologist — then, my bone scan and ct scan — then, port placement — then, echocardiogram — then the commencement of chemotherapy —- and just like a robot, I present myself and say “do what you have to do”. However, there was one time that I had a meltdown — I arrived for my appointment for the port placement. I thought it was a minor procedure like an IV input. My husband had an appointment with his back surgeon so I asked the receptionist how long it was going to be for my procedure. She mentioned pre-op, operating room and recovery. At this point, I was so sick of being poked and prodded — I just stood in the middle of waiting room looking at my husband and cried. The nurse was so kind and I settled down. When the surgeon found out that I had not stopped my aspirin for the full 5 days, he wanted to postpone the procedure but — thank God — he didn’t and all went well. So, I got past each of these “hurdles” — great progress in my battle!!! The heroes in my cancer world include my infusion nurses who make chemo bearable and as I move forward I find myself stronger and more positive. I wonder about my world when I complete chemo and radiation. Will it ever feel normal again? Will I live in fear of the cancer returning? Will I learn to live each day to the fullest and not worry? Will the dimension where I now reside fade back into the real world where my loved ones are? It is through the power of prayer that I remain positive that the Good Lord will bring me through this storm to sunny days ahead and I pray that I have the wisdom to appreciate those days and enjoy whatever life I have left.

Today I received a gift card to help me with expenses.  Being diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer affected more than just my physical health.  I’ve been facing many other obstacles especially finances.  It hasn’t been easy looking for a full-time job after diagnosis.  I worked hard and invested much money into becoming a certified social worker, only to see that go as fast as it came.  Now I’m depending on other social workers to help me!  I totally appreciate the gift you have given me at this much needed time.  God bless you!

I happened to be one of the unfortunate people who has breast cancer, however, I am also one of the fortunate people to discover a wonderful support group called the “Pink Ribbon Riders”!!  I have to say that this has been a huge struggle for me, midway through my life, to encounter such a terrible disease.  Along with the surgery, treatment, and change of life experiences, trying to find financial aid with all my medical and everyday expenses has been difficult, until I contacted this wonderful group of people.  They were the first to respond to my inquiries, and the first to help me out with a gift card towards expenses.  I will be using the money that I received to cover my utility bill costs.  It couldn’t have come at a better time since I have been out of work for 6 months, am self employed, and the weather is getting cold sooner than normal.

Since being diagnosed with bi-lateral breast cancer in December 2010, I feel as though it’s been a whirlwind of decisions and trust. In all that has taken place there are two things I am absolutely sure of. God’s love and the love of those around me who I know and who I do not personally know. Faith, love, support and attitude are the things that gets one through a challenge as this. I feel so blessed to have been given all of these gifts.

To have a group of people as yourself step up to help those who you don’t even know is overwhelming and I thank you from the depths of my heart. It is such a blessing to have this gift to help with some of the medical bills that we have never had to deal with before. I wanted to thank Pink Ribbon Riders for their generous donation. Diagnosed at age 33 with Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer was very upsetting. No family history of breast cancer, I didn’t understand why this was happening. I had just finished school late in life and am a single mother of one daughter. Struggling through school I was excited to get a job as a RN but when I was diagnosed and had to miss a month of work and then only able to work part-time while on chemo. I received the gift card in the mail 2 weeks before Christmas, with bills piling up, it couldn’t come at a better time. There are so many angels out there and I am very blessed to have such organizations available to me. I look forward to the day when I get back on my feet and can pay it forward to others who are struggling with a cancer diagnoses. I am writing today to thank you for all you do for people with breast cancer. I have been so blessed to have received the gift card you gave me last year to help with my needs through this fight with breast cancer. So far I have won the fight; time will tell if it’s forever. Just after being at the Pink Ribbon Ride in Grand Rapids, MN we found out my husband had Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and we started his treatment. I can’t tell you how grateful I was for the help you gave me. A family with two people fighting cancer goes through a lot of money for unexpected expenses, even with good insurance. We have not found another organization like yours that really helps the person with day to day needs. I don’t know anyone with cancer that thought they would someday have to come home from the doctor and say the words, “I have cancer to the people they love.” We never think it will be us, we think we couldn‘t get cancer. The fact of the matter is cancer don’t care who it picks, it can be anyone. Please everyone do your screening and if things still don’t feel right keep looking for answers. We have to be our own best advocates, as we know our bodies best.
Pink Ribbon Riders is a very special group that cares about the person with cancer and their needs. I am so grateful and appreciative of your organization for the help given to me.

This has been a life changing and challenging year for our family with the diagnosis and battle against my breast cancer. I lost my job due to so many appointments and treatments of this disease. My family and friends provided great support for me to stay focused on what the positive outcome will be from the chemo and radiation, I am so grateful to the Pink Ribbon Riders, and can’t tell you how much we appreciate your support! On a positive note, I was able to get another job at our local new hospital where I can share my story and bring more awareness and understanding of this disease.

I would like to thank the PRR for the $500.00 gift card that I received in December. I am so grateful for organizations like yours that help out with the financial needs of breast cancer patients. The funds are going to help off-set the additional medical expenses that I now have. I was 37 years old when I was diagnosed in September with Stage 2 breast cancer. I completed a 16 week dose-dense chemotherapy regimen 5 weeks ago and tomorrow, on Valentine’s Day, I will be undergoing a double mastectomy surgery and axillary dissection. This past weekend, the PRR had a benefit ride in Old Forge, NY and friends of ours rode in honor of me. I look forward to participating in that ride myself and celebrating my “survivor status” next year.
