11/3/08- SleddersVision.org donates $750.00 to Pink Ribbon Riders from past winter snowmobile ride in Michigan!
A group of amazing snowmobilers got together and rode for a good cause this winter and picked the Pink Ribbon Riders to be the beneficiary. Sledders Vision.org will be named as a Pink Ribbon Survivor sponsor at the 3rd Annual Michigan Snow Run on February 14, 2009. The donation will help a survivor to receive a $500.00 Pink Ribbon Riders Assistance Fund card and also an evening a fun to be provided for him or her and their significant other.
The Sledders vision.org group formerly associated to snowmobileworld.com have chosen the Pink Ribbon Riders mission to support 2 years in row because of the direct support that we give to the breast cancer patients and their families. Also as fellow snowmobilers and motor sports enthusiasts they share the same passion of Pink Ribbon Rider of taking their hobby and doing good for others with it. Thank you Sleddersvision.org for your commitment to our cause if helping others and to the wonderful group that you all are! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts! www.sleddersvision.org

Pink Ribbon Riders announces new format for
breast cancer patients to apply for assistance program.
Pink
Ribbon Riders a volunteer based organization has launched a new
format for patients diagnosed with breast cancer to apply for
assistance. The new format will ask patients to fill out an on
line form with their contact information and will then prompt
them to download a form that will be mailed to Pink Ribbon Riders.
The new process allows Pink Ribbon Riders and the patient immediate
contact with each other. The Assistance Program will work on
an "open enrolment" calendar. The Pink Ribbon Riders
web site will announce the open dates for applications to be received
and will announce when the program is closed. This "open
enrolment" format will allow time for the volunteers at
Pink Ribbon Riders to process applications and notify patients.
To keep funding directed as much to the patients and the mission
of helping others an "open enrolment" format is planned
to better assist those in need.
Patients will have the opportunity
to receive up to $500.00 per year from the organization's assistance
fund. The funds maybe distributed to them directly or to their
bills in order to help pay medical bills, utility bills, gas
money or even food.
The funds are for them to use however it
may make their day and fight against breast cancer just a little
bit easier. The Assistance Program will make determination to
patients in the states in which Pink Ribbon Riders hosts fundraising
events first and then if funds allow, it will assist patients
outside of the fund raising states.
The current first determination
states are: New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota
and Wyoming. The program has currently helped more than 100 patients
and still counting.
The Pink Ribbon Riders has also assisted
grass roots programs such as the Jefferson - Lewis County Wellness
Connection in New York, The Hat Rack program in Michigan, the
One Day at a Time, volunteer support group in Michigan and many
other grass roots programs that do not have large resources for
funding for their own programs. Based on fund availability, Pink
Ribbon Riders hopes to continue also supporting these and many
more grass roots programs in the future.
Pink Ribbon Riders also
funds the awareness of breast cancer that both men and women
can be diagnosed by providing free materials of information at
all appearances to the public. And as many requests as possible
when we are informed of a new patient diagnosis.
Thank you to the continued
support of the Pink Ribbon Riders organization presenting sponsors:
Arctic Cat Corporation, HMK USA, Ingles Performance, Triton Trailers. Through their dedication to our mission we thank them tremendously
for all that they do to make our mission real.
Snow
Goer Magazine’s First-Ever Dunk Tank Raises Money For
Charity
Snowmobilers Raise Money for the Pink Ribbon Riders Among the
many Hay Days attractions September 6-7 in Columbus, Minnesota
was Snow Goer magazine’s dunk tank. Onlookers gathered
to see and attempt to sink numerous snowmobile industry professionals
who volunteered to help raise money for Pink Ribbon Riders, a
charity that financially assists men and women diagnosed with
breast cancer.
The free-will donation raised $878 for the Pink
Ribbon Riders. A rush of proceeds came from the Hay Days host
club, the Sno Barons, when grass drags race director Steve Seviola
and Sno Barons president Dennis Little got into the tank. The
club’s other members packed the tank area to see their
bigwigs get soggy.
Arctic Cat, a major sponsor to the Pink Ribbon
Riders, made a $100 donation and allowed children to take turns
sinking Pink Ribbon Riders co-founder Jody McKay. The fundraiser
received support from HMK, United States Cross-Country, Tek Rider
and others, including people from the crowd.
“We’re
happy with our first charity event at Hay days,” said Tim
Erickson, Snow Goer’s editor. “We’re especially
proud of the support from the volunteers who stepped into the
booth and to the volunteers with the Pink Ribbon Riders who worked
with us to make this charity dunk tank a success. We’ve
got our benchmark, and now we can work on improving our fundraising
efforts for this worthwhile charity.”

Thank You RMR Racers and Families! You Rock!
Pink Ribbon Riders
would like to send a huge heart felt thank you to Rock Maple
Racing and all the racers and families that support the Pink
Ribbon Riders by participating in the end of the year relay race
to benefit the Pink Ribbon Riders Organization. This year we
received a donation totaling $3,086!
Through your support we are able to help men and
women diagnosed with breast cancer by providing an Assistance
Program that enables them to apply for financial assistance.
The financial assistance is commonly used for gas to treatment
centers or to help pay for the enormous medical bills that occur
due to battling the disease of breast cancer.
Pink Ribbon Riders
also supports local support groups for patients and their families
by providing educational books and other resources that maybe
needed in order for patients to talk to each other if they are
to far to travel to a center for a support meeting.
We could
not accomplish our mission of helping others if it was not for
the amazing people that are involved with Rock Maple Racing.
Thank you to all of you for your continued support and we wish
you a safe and healthy summer!

This winter has been amazing for the Pink Ribbon Riders,
we started in Minnesota on New Years, traveled to Michigan
and then just this past weekend in Eagle River for the 1st
Annual Wisconsin Snow Run!
We are proud to announce that this first year event
in Wisconsin raise $21,000 and still counting! A total of 93
participants attended and rode up to 137 miles that day! Watch
for more photos and details on the Wisconsin Snow Run page.
Even a video clip from Channel
12 News will be available to watch!
And we are
not done, this weekend, March 1st, we head to New York for
the 4th Annual New York Snow Run and are expecting 300 Participants!
If that’s not enough this volunteer organization wraps
up the “Riding in honor and in memory of those we love” snowmobile “Snow
Run” events in Wyoming on April 5th! Each event has proved
to be not only emotional as we are able to help patients battling
breast cancer with the Pink Ribbon Riders Breast Cancer Fund.
The organization invites a local patient to receive their fund
assistance the night of the event and he or she shares their
story.
The assistance is received in a $500 gift card to help with
medical bills or daily needs, but it also provides a great days
of co-survivors coming together to be able to talk about their
emotions and struggles. Currently Pink Ribbon Riders has helped
over 30 people from states all over the USA. We can not share
names with the public of who we have assisted as they are protected
by HIPPA Rules. This program was established in late fall of
2007 and has been available to anyone in the USA, simply by printing
off an application form on the left side of our home page and
completing the need information.
Pink Ribbon Rider volunteers also seek patients to assist with
the fund in the specific states that we host “Snow Run” events
in. Additionally, many grass roots projects such as survivor
groups are assisted by the Pink Ribbon Riders. We actively search
for programs that are assisting patients directly.

Pink Ribbon Riders Kick-Off Snowmobile Ride for Breast
Cancer - MaxSled.com article by: Shane Zeppelin
It was the weekend between Christmas and New Years. Just winding
down from one holiday and getting ready for the next. Most people
have something going on the holiday weekends, but reserve the
weekend in between for some vacation activities. In Sledder World,
we go sledding. This happened to be the same weekend that the
Pink Ribbon Riders had their second annual Minnesota Snow Run
to raise money to help men and women with breast cancer. The
air was cold and the trails were ripe, so a couple of the Max
Sled Team went along for the ride. Click

He says, "It feels great to be back on the track and I

own Kylie Abrahamson (breast cancer awareness spokesperson)
dominated the Pro Women's division finishing 1st in both rounds

the most exciting races of the weekend. She had a tough hole shot

was the right thing to do.

Pink Ribbon Riders Announces Early Support For The 2007-2008
Awareness Tour.
Yes we are talking snowmobiles in June, because the cause
of spreading awareness of breast cancer continues all year long!
The Pink Ribbon Riders formed in 2005 with just one Snow Run event
in the Tug Hill area of New York and has grown to three (3) events
this past winter of 2006-2007 that included Michigan and Minnesota.
In 2008 the 1st Annual Wyoming Snow Run has been added at the Togwotee
Lodge in April.
While some of you are still cleaning or may have
not even thought about winterising your sleds and skipped right
to the golf clubs, the volunteers at the Pink Ribbon Riders have
been working hard on the mission of helping others.
We are very pleased to announce so early on that
the wonderful folks at:
Arctic Cat, HMK Snowmobiling, KLIM Clothing, Triton
Trailers and Ingles Performance have announced they
will support our mission in 2007-2008.
It is important for us to share with you this great
news early as these companies have taken a lot of time to plan
their support to us when the past winter months were not even
over yet!
We now need to ask you for your continued support
in watching for great new products from these companies. As they
help us to support our mission there are chosen products that
will be designated to create awareness for breast cancer with
some also funding portions of the proceeds back to the Pink Ribbon
Riders. We will announce them shortly.
We want to thank these companies for their commitment
and support to a grass roots effort.
The Pink Ribbon Riders will continue their mission
of spreading awareness of breast cancer to both men and women
in the motor sports industry by attending many power sports trade
shows and snowmobile races this fall and winter. To help those
diagnosed the Snow Run events are planned through out the USA
this year adding a new location of Wyoming and bringing back
great location such as New York, Michigan and Minnesota.
Watch for new happenings this summer, an online
store for Pink Ribbon Rider products and coming this fall, ONLINE
REGISTRATION for all the snow run events!
Rock Maple Racing supports the Pink Ribbon Riders with
RELAY RACES!
The Rock Maple Racing (Snocross Circuit of the East
Coast) raises close to $4,000 to benefit the Pink Ribbon Riders.
Snowmobile relay racers consisting of 5 racers and the ever famous
mechanics race were held the past two weekends at the Rock Maple
Racing circuits to benefit the Pink Ribbon Riders. Racers took
part in the year end "Racing for a cause" by entering
teams of 5 into a relay race that consisted of 1 woman racer
and 4 men. Also, the mechanics race was open for fun to the crew
members at the end of the day at the season closer at Windham
Mountain in New York. All together the racers, staff, crew members
and of Rock Maple Racing raised close to $4,000.
Pink Ribbon Riders would like to thank all of the racers,
staff, family and friends of Rock Maple Racing for their generous
support in the 2006-2007 race season.
As a grass roots effort of helping men and women diagnosed with
breast cancer you have helped make a difference for those that
may not have been able to afford screenings and or paying for
bills that pile up during the struggles of the disease. Thank
you for believing in the cause and the mission to help those
in need.
Best wishes for a safe and healthy summer ~ Jody McKay and Alia
Brown, Founders, Pink Ribbon Riders.
A sneak peak of what you will see if you join the Pink Ribbon
Riders for the 1st Annual Wyoming Snow Run in March of 2008. Visit
the Wyoming Snow run page for pictures and more information.
Pink Ribbon Riders end the winter breast cancer awareness tour
with 3 great events, including New York raising $25,000! The
Pink Ribbon Riders finish the Snow Run breast cancer awareness
snowmobile rides with a bang at the 3rd Annual Tug Hill Snow
Run where 159 participants took place in a great day of riding
and a dinner event on March 3rd in Turin, New York. The one day
event raised close to $25,000 and still counting! A huge accomplishment
in its 3rd year totaling close to $33,000 for the three years.
Riders were treated to a scenic tour of the Tug Hill Plateau
of New York’s best snow of the season with sights featuring
the Windmill Farm and the Gorge. Riders chose their riding pace
with guided trail leaders and a course of 100 miles or a choice
of a 55 mile route. The event started and finished at the Timberview
Lodge in Turin where a dinner party concluded the evening.
This year’s top fundraiser was Cathy Hinkelman from New
York , raising $2,005 and she received an ICE GRABBER snowmobile
track from Camoplast and many other lovely gifts. Other prizes
including the pledge prize program that included prizes from
SLY DOGS SKIS (custom skis), HMK snowmobiling, HJC helmet by
HJC, and a full clothing outfit and helmet from CHOKO Design.
The Pink Ribbon Riders also visited Michigan and Minnesota on
the SNOW RUN event schedule this year. The 1st Annual Michigan
Snow Run raised close to $6,000 and had 60 participants. Top
fundraiser goes to Amy Steeland. The excellent conditions
of the Gaylord and surrounding trail system proved to be a fantastic
location to hold the first Michigan annual event. Riders found
2 to 3 foot of fresh powder as their trail guides lead them to
untouched areas. The riders were treated to lunch at the Black
Forest Grille in Gaylord and a dinner party at the Eagles Lodge
to wrap up the festivities of the day. Live music, lots of giveaways
and a great atmosphere concluded a great beginning to an annual “Snow
Run” tradition.
The Pink Ribbon Rider “Snow Run” events had started
their kick off early in February with yet another 1st annual
ride, this time creeping farther to the west in Garrison, Minnesota.
The 1st Annual Minnesota Snow Run was challenged by no snow and
harsh cold weather from mother nature of -18 below. The 13 riders
bared the cold for the cause of spreading awareness for breast
cancer in men and women and rode the trails of Garrison to honor
and remember those they love while raising funds for those in
need. This group definitely takes the passion award for our cause
as they bared many elements of nature to bring the 1st Annual
Minnesota Snow run to a success! The event raised close to $3,000.
The top fundraiser award went to Heather Olson.
All together this winter the Pink Ribbon Riders achieved their
goal in raising enough funds to make available so that in spring
of 2007, those diagnosed with breast cancer can apply directly
for financial assistance. The group hopes to continue to also
support local efforts such as the mobile mammography screening
van at the New York event this year, that the Pink Ribbon Riders
funded $3,000 to make it available To those in need of screenings.
And the PINK SNOWMOBILE winner is….we are excited
to announce the winner of the “PINKED out” Arctic
